March of dimes

Hey everybody! We have created a team for march of dimes in honor or Ann Martin. We are so excited about it and want as many people as possible on our team! The name is A-mays entourage. We call her a-may sometimes. We are having tshirts made and the walk will be 3 miles at Bonita. They will have music and a picnic following the walk. We are asking for $25 a team member to cover shirt and help us towards our goal. Please if you are interested, get in touch with me or rob. It is June 8th at 9:00 am. We hope to see you there. If you would like to join, let us know ASAP!

Lots of firsts

We have been blessed with one of the sweetest, HAPPIEST babies! I have loved getting her to laugh and smile so much!

We went out of town this weekend and left her for the first time. It was nice to be alone but we missed her! Is it bad we missed Molly and copper too? 😁 This is how we cuddle!

She loves her bunny!

First time in the bumbo seat. She loved it!

First swim today! She loved baths so much I knew she would like the pool! It wasn't as warm as the bath but she didn't seem to care much!

Lately...

We really have been doing great lately!  We could not ask for a sweeter baby!  We all catch ourselves saying frequently, "She's just so darn sweet!" We have been to the pulmonologist twice now and have gotten good reports each time.  They are not going to increase her diuretics (sp?) as she gains weight, to wean her from her meds.  This is a great step in the right direction.  We had a little cold/allergy thing last week.  The NICU told us to never be too cautious when deciding whether to take her to the doctor or not.  This mama didn't hesitate.  We were there Monday morning.  She said she was fine..we were back Thursday because her breathing was too labored for me.  We started breathing treatments and I can report we are much better now!  She is getting quite the personality.  We couldn't ask for a better baby!

Easter and christening

We have had so much fun with Ann Martin home that I have found no time to blog! It could be the lack of sleep experienced every so often too!

Easter was just perfect. It was her first time to go to church and she was an angel! I have been working hard to finish her gown for the christening that Easter kind of snuck up on me. I had not made her anything so a sweet friend of mine loaned her sweet girl's coming home gown and bonnet to me. It. Is. Beautiful y'all!

The Easter bunny came to see her and I think she was thrilled! ;)

The christening was such a great day! We had lots of family in town and friends from here and Alabama too! I finished the gown by the skin of my nose. My parents hosted a wonderful brunch at their house afterwards. She slept the whole service until he sprinkled her head then she went back to sleep! Can we ask for a better baby??

Our good friends Morgan and David had baby Ethan 2 weeks ago and we have gotten the babies together a few times. Working on that arranged marriage you know ;).

I'll try to do better with this blog! Have a great week!

Pictures!

Wow, we have been busy.  Not leaving much time to blog.  I really have a new appreciation for all those blogs that I read that have more than one child who can keep up...props to you!  We have had a great time having her home.  A little less sleep, a little formula on all of your clothes, and a new little arm ornament and we are happy as can be!  I will try and keep up a little better but for now, enjoy the pictures!

Our household grows by one

You heard right!  Ann Martin is home!!  It is still pretty surreal, I find myself staring at her often.  I am probably creating a monster but I can't keep my hands off of her.

Many have asked how our first night was.  The room-in at the hospital was not so smooth.  She acted like she had her nights and days confused.  Also could have been that she was in a different room with new sounds and smells.  Not sure but I do know that all she wanted was to eat and be held.  The crib was for the birds.  So, mommy here got very little sleep.  She did cry/scream some that night but more so than anything, she grunts and squeals a lot.  This made me uneasy not knowing what she needed or if she was just making noises.  So...my mom said last night here to help me.  We are trying to keep her on her NICU schedule so I fed at 11 PM, mama at 2 am, me at 5am and Rob at 8am.  She said in my mom's room and she did not rest well either because of the grunting/squealing.  Guess we will be taking turns who she sleeps with (in her bassinet).

She has done pretty good today.  She took a great nap between 2pm-5pm.   She likes her swing a lot until her paci falls out.  I am so torn whether or not to give it back to her every time.  I of course have because I don't like her screaming...I am worried her breathing will suffer if she gets too worked up.  She still head bobs if she gets out of breath...

Pictures to come!
